Sosio cooks everything himself and it is quite clear he takes great pride in the taste and presentation. of each meal. He has a reputation for culinary flair. Do try Sosio’s if you love fine food and wine!

‘I started my meal with Fusilli al Granchio ~ pasta with fresh crab, tomato, brandy and cream, and quite superb. Served in a tureen, placed in the centre of the table by Sue so that we could help ourselves, it was full of flavour.
Sosio had obviously been generous with the brandy, as well as the crab and cream. The main course was one of his own French dishes and just as enjoyable. Fillet Mont D'Or, tender fillet cooked to perfection with shallots, mushrooms, red wine and cream, topped with a half peach and slice of melted cheese -a good combination, and again beautifully presented. Garlic mushrooms, served at the table from Sosio's much-used frying pan, were a tasty accompaniment. I wasn't surprised at Sosio's culinary skill - I sampled it many times 20 years ago during his years at The Talbot Hotel in Ripley! Customers from Ripley are now following him to Oatlands. With the meal we sampled his excellent white and then red Italian house wine. Both deserve special mention.
The Italian influence cropped up again in the light, spongy, creamy dessert laced with Tia Maria and coffee, which completed this high quality meal. Sosio's is an unusual little restaurant, well spaced tables, including some in the second section near the bar. Carefully chosen and softly played French music adds to the ambience. Sue is friendly, welcoming and professional, and Sosio pops out to greet his customers whenever it is safe to leave his kitchen.’
